Nicola Shindler
Nicola Shindler (OBE) is a multi-award-winning British television producer. Over the course of her prolific career, she has worked with some of the biggest names in television, creating some of the world's most memorable series.
With over 25 years' experience in the industry, Nicola has produced some of the biggest public and critical successes in British television, including Years and Years, Happy Valley, Queer As Folk, Traces, Last Tango in Halifax, Butterfly and recently Harlan Coben's The Stranger. Upcoming new releases include Finding Alice and No Return for ITV, Ridley Road for the BBC, Traces season 2 for UKTV, Stay Close for Netflix and It's A Sin for Channel 4 / HBO Max.
Known for her relationships with authors, Nicola has worked with many of the UK's most prolific and acclaimed writers, including Russell T Davies, Sally Wainwright, Lenny Henry, Paul Abbot, Dan Sefton, Tony Marchant, Amelia Bullmore, Danny Brocklehurst, Matt Greenhalgh and Sarah Solemani, on series featuring leading actors.
In 2019, Nicola was awarded the Order of the British Empire and received one of BAFTA's highest honors, the Special Award, for services to British television.
Before launching Quay Street Productions in 2021, Nicola founded RED Production Company in 1998, which she ran for twenty years. She was also Managing Director and Artistic Director of StudioCanal UK.
