Mascha began her career in 1995 as a production assistant at Joop van den Ende TV productions, while completing her studies in film and television at the University of Amsterdam.

She then worked for several production companies (mostly Endemol-related) in the entertainment departments. In 2009, she began working for Dutch public broadcaster Omroep MAX, as Head of Television. There, she created a new branch: a fiction department. She co-produced several works such as like Moeder ik wil bij de revu and De Zaak Menten ( The Bone Collector ), awarded at the Fairmont Banff Springs Festival.

In 2017, Mascha chose to devote herself full-time to fiction and joined forces with public broadcaster KRO-NCRV, where she now heads the fiction department.
