Lorenzo Mieli was born in Rome in 1973. He founded Wilder in 2001, then Wildside in 2009 with Mario Gianani. Wildside combined the cinematic experience of Gianani's company, Offside, with Wilder's television expertise. Within a few years, it had established itself on the national and international scene, producing multi-prime films by directors such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bellocchio and Saverio Costanzo ; but also international series such as The Young Pope and The New Pope by multi-award-winning director Paolo Sorrentino, Il Miracolo by Niccolò Ammaniti, My Brilliant Friend by Saverio Costanzo, In Treatment 1, 2 and 3, 1992, 1993 and 1994, the first two seasons of The Mafia Kills Only in Summer and We are who we are by Luca Guadagnino. In April 2010, Mieli became CEO of Fremantle Italy, the company behind TV programs such as Xfactor and Italia's Got Talent, as well as dramas such as Un Posto al Sole and the first two seasons of Don't Kill. Since January 2020, Mieli has headed The Apartment (a Fremantle Company), which focuses on the creation and development of series and films with an international reach, produced by international writers and talent.
