Series B.A.: Once upon a time in the East

John is the author of three books - Searching for Sofia (Doubleday), A Perfect Hell (Random House), Valour Road (Random House/Viking) - and helped develop the miniseries A Perfect Hell for the Canadian CBC. In addition, John wrote the concept for the U.S.-Canadian TV series Idaho High (2017), the story of small-town Idaho high school students who make their fortune smuggling Canadian cannabis into the United States. John chronicled Eastern Europe in the 1990s for publications including Postmedia News, The European, The Telegraph and Time Magazine. Much of the content of Once Upon a Time in the East comes from John's direct experience of living and traveling in the former Eastern Bloc. He lives in Budapest.
