Anita Briem

Aníta began her career at the age of 9 at the Icelandic National Theatre, and acted in numerous plays throughout her childhood. At the age of 16, she moved to London, where she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and went on to appear in plays at the London National Theatre and in the West End hit "Losing Louis". She then turned to film and television, appearing in "Journey the Center of the Earth" for Warner Bros, "The Tudors" for Showtime, "Doctor Who" for the BBC and "The Evidence" for ABC. She recently returned to her native Iceland to work with more European directors. She starred in "The Minister" (TV series) alongside Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, a role for which she was nominated for an Edda Film and TV Award. Her next films are "Quake" (directed by Tinna Hrafnsdóttir), "Reply to Helgas Letter" (directed by Ása Helga Hjörleifsdóttir), Beautiful Beings (directed by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson) and Villibráð (directed by Elsa María Jakobsdóttir). She is currently working on her own series produced by Glassriver.
