A discussion in partnership with the Aarhus Series Industry Conference (Denmark).

The Laëtitia series is based on a true story. The "true crime" genre, inspired by real events, is a huge success in France and around the world. But it raises the question of ethics. How much of a series "based on a true story" is fact and how much is fiction? How can we create an interesting scenario based on fact without lapsing into fiction? And how do you respect the bereaved relatives of the victims? Meeting with Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, scriptwriter and director, and Antoine Lacomblez, co-writer, moderated by Ene Katrine Rasmussen, Head of Creative Europe / MEDIA office Denmark.

Laetitia, 18, has disappeared. Her scooter was found in the early hours of the morning, overturned just in front of her house. The Gendarmerie's investigation soon led to the reconstruction of the girl's last hours and the arrest of Tony Meilhon. But although they were certain of having identified the person responsible, the investigators still hadn't found the body. This story follows the repercussions on Laetitia's family, especially her twin sister Jessica, and on the workings of the police, social services, justice system and even the government. Inspired by true events.
