Episode 14 - Thomas Lilti & Cécile Rebboah
In this episode of Série Series l'émission, we take a look at the hospital. Actress Cécile Rebboah and screenwriter/director Thomas Lilti are the guests of Marie Barraco and Pierre Zéni, and talk passionately about their careers.
Cécile Rebboah began her acting career almost 30 years ago. Film, theater, television, she's done it all over the years, driven by her love of roles, whether comic or dramatic. She has been involved in series since the late 90s: as Audrey Salucci in the series Avocats et Associés(France 2) for over 10 years, then in Fais pas ci, fais pas ça (France 2), Ainsi soient-ils (Arte), Lebowitz contre Lebowitz (France 2), Les Bracelets Rouges (TF1)... or more recently in the thriller mini-series Peur sur le Lac (TF1). In 2019, she won the Best Actress award at La Rochelle for Itinéraire d'une maman braqueuse (TF1).
After studying medicine, and making short films in parallel with his life in hospital and with patients, Thomas Lilti turned full-time to cinema. After Les Yeux Bandés (2007), it was his second feature Hippocrate (2014) that fully revealed him to the public, attracting almost 1 million cinema-goers. This success was confirmed with Médecin de Campagne (2016) and Première Année (2018). Continuing to explore the hospital world through fiction, he then turned Hippocrate into a series. After the success of the first season, broadcast in 2018 on Canal+, and a season 2 shoot disrupted by the Covid-19 crisis, Hippocrate has been back on our screens since April 5, confirming its status as one of the biggest French serial successes of recent years.
On Série Series l'émission, Thomas Lilti and Cécile Rebboah look back at their career paths, discuss their experience of medical series, and look at the director-actor relationship.
