Nathaniel Méchaly is currently working on the composition for the TV series Shadowplay, directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein and starring Taylor Kitsch and Michael C. Hall. Previously, he completed the composition for Roschdy Zem's latest feature Persona non grata (release July 2019). In 2018, he signed the score for the first French Netflix documentary series 13 Novembre directed by Jules and Gédéon Naudet. He also worked with director Madeleine Sackler on the score for her first feature film OG, and composed the original score for the Swedish film Swoon directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. Prior to this, Nathaniel Méchaly composed the score for Farren Blackburn's second film Opression ( Shut in ), then for Jour polaire ( Midnight sun ), a Franco-Swedish series starring Leïla Bekhti broadcast on Canal+. After signing the music for season 3 of the series Kabul kitchen, in 2017 he reunited with director Wong Kar Wai for his latest production, See you tomorrow, with whom he had already collaborated, alongside Shigeru Umebayashi, on The grandmaster* . Nathaniel Méchaly began his career as a film composer in 2004 with Raphael Nadjari's Avanim, followed by Guy Ritchie's Revolver and the successful Taken trilogy (1, 2 and 3). He has signed a large number of musical identities for television and radio: Cinecinema, Paris Premiere, TF1 Jeunesse, France 3, Arte, Radio France, and composed for advertising and short films. His inspiration doesn't stop at genre cinema; he also composes for theater and contemporary dance. Born in 1972, Nathaniel Méchaly entered the Conservatoire National de Marseille, then Paris and Boulogne, where he studied cello, chamber music and electroacoustic composition.
