Mariela Besuievsky

Mariela Besuievsky was born in Uruguay. She studied at EICTV, Cuba's international film school. Her first film, El dirigible de Pablo Dotta, was presented at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. She was awarded the Eurimages prize for European co-production in 2011. She has to her credit over 160 works that have won numerous international awards: the Oscar-winning film Dans ses yeux by Juan José Campanella, the series 4 Seasons in Havana by Felix Viscarret, which won the Platino award for best series, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote by Terry Gilliam, El Reino by Rodrigo Sorogoyen and Compañeros by Álvaro Brechner.
