Lise Akoka
Lise Akoka studied psychology at university and trained as an actress at Les Ateliers du Sudden and Studio-théâtre d'Asnières. She then discovered, in the practice of casting and coaching children for the cinema, the means to converge her two interests. In 2014, she met Romane Gueret during casting for Rudi Rosenberg's film Le Nouveau, for which they auditioned over 4,000 young non-professional actors over several months. In 2015, they co-directed the short film Chasse Royale, which won awards at several festivals, including the Prix Illy at the Directors' Fortnight in 2016. The film was then nominated for the César for Best Short Film in 2017. In August 2018 they co-directed a documentary for the Hobbies collection, which was broadcast in September 2019 on CANAL+. Alongside the writing of their first feature film, Les Pires, which they will shoot in the summer of 2021, they are writing and directing the mini-series Tu Préfères, broadcast in June 2020 on Arte.tv.
