After a Master's degree in Film History, Joris Charpentier began his career in 2012 at Studiocanal as Assistant to the Director of International Production and Acquisitions under Ron HALPERN. In 2013, he was entrusted with the Editorial Coordination of Studiocanal's new London-based TV series production structure, working in particular on the Studiocanal film catalog to develop TV adaptations). There, he worked for Studiocanal on series developed and produced by the London branch, notably on Cucumber, Banana and Tofu (Channel 4 and E4), or Scandinavian series (Svensk in Sweden or SAM Production in Denmark). In 2014 he took up the position of Head of Development and Acquisitions at Studiocanal TV in Paris, working alongside European series production players such as Red Production, Tandem, Urban Myth, SAM, Bambu and others. He works closely with Canal+ Création Originale to develop in-house series projects. In 2017 he moved to Los Angeles as Head of Series Development for blackpills. A year later, he took charge of series development at Merlin Productions (Lagardère Studios). In 2019, he founded Aux Singuliers at Telfrance. Since then, he has announced the development of a modern French version of Queer As Folk, as well as France TV - Slash's first English co-production, entitled Les Mains Bleues (4x52), a fantasy and social thriller.
