Jack Thorne

Jack Thorne is a critically acclaimed, award-winning screenwriter and playwright.

He began his audiovisual career on the series Shameless and Skins, before writing Cast Offs in 2009. Since then, he has created several series, including Glue, The Last Panthers, National Treasure, Kiri and The Accident. He also wrote the adaptation of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials for BBC One and HBO. He has won 5 BAFTAs: Best Miniseries(This is England '88), Best Drama Series(The Fades), Best Unitary(Don't Take my baby), Best Series(This is England '90) and Best Original Series(National Treasure).

Jack Thorne's filmography includes The Scouting Book for Boys, War Book, A Long Way Down, Wonder (with Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson) and The Aeronauts (with Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne). He also wrote the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, based on an original story by himself, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany.
