Dustin Loose is a multi-award-winning film director and screenwriter for film and television.
Born in Bonn in 1986, he started out as an actor and assistant director in the theater, meeting and collaborating with inspiring directors such as Werner Schroeter and Christoph Schlingensief. In 2006, he directed his first film, RollTreppe Abwärts, which met with unexpected success in German cinemas.
From 2007 to 2014, he studied filmmaking at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, one of The Hollywood Reporter's "15 best international schools". His films have been shown at renowned international festivals, where they have won numerous awards. With Erledigung Einer Sache ( The Last Will ), adapted from Håkan Nesser's bestseller, Dustin Loose won the Student Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences in 2015.
At the age of 30, he became the youngest director to work on the legendary German series Tatort. The Tatort episode Déjà vu (2017) received very positive reviews and was a big hit. In 2018, he directed a second episode, Der höllische Heinz. In 2019, the TV series Rampensau received very positive critical and public acclaim. He is completing his next feature film, Mein Altweibersommer, with the renowned actress Iris Berben in the lead role, and preparing his next series.
