Arnaud Malherbe
After studying journalism, Arnaud Malherbe worked for 7 years at L'Express magazine, where he wrote about travel, trends, nightlife, adventure and cinema. A lover of stories, both real and imaginary, he took a year off to study at the Atelier Scénario de la Fémis. He never set foot in the studio again... He resigned, and took the plunge into fiction of all kinds. He wrote for television (single or serial) and comics, directed three short films that won awards at numerous festivals - including Dans leur Peau (Grand Prix at the Gérardmer Fantastic Festival, 2008) - then wrote and directed his first TV movie for Arte, Belleville Story, which won Best TV Movie at the La Rochelle TV Fiction Festival in 2009. He signed a second TV movie, Chambre Noire, in 2013, then co-wrote (with Marion Festraëts) and directed the series Chefs (6x52), for France 2, broadcast in early 2015, which met with widespread critical and public success. He directed the first 4 episodes of the second season of Chefs, broadcast in 2016. In 2020 his new series Moloch (6x52, Calt Studio), a fantasy thriller, was broadcast on Arte and received the Screenplay Prize at the CANNESERIES festival. Arnaud is currently in post-production on a feature film for cinema, Ogre (Gloria Film/247 Film), due for release in 2021. He is also developing several series and feature film projects.
