Adam Kay is a multi-award-winning author and humorist. His first book, This is Going to Hurt, inspired by his time as a junior doctor, paints a vital, dark, often funny and sometimes shocking portrait of the British public health system. Recently adapted into a series written and co-produced by Adam, this work is a perfect illustration of how an artist's singular vision and voice have the power to awaken consciences. This is Going to Hurt is a literary phenomenon: a Sunday Times #1 bestseller for over a year, it has sold 2.5 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling British non-fiction story of the 21st century. Translated into 37 languages, This is Going to Hurt won ten national awards, including a record four National Book Awards. Her next bestseller, Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas, and her two children's books, Kay's Anatomy and Kay's Marvellous Medicine, also broke records in their respective genres. His anthology Dear NHS raised over £500,000 for charity. After writing and producing the TV adaptation of This is Going to Hurt for AMC+ and the BBC, Adam is currently showrunning a new comedy. He lives in Oxfordshire, England, with his dog and his husband (who are not the same person). Adam will honor us by sharing his singular and committed creative vision: a strong look at the question "Can fiction make the world a better place?".
